Business Websites

I think Grant should win for Glass Etching because his website looked professional and he can make it look better because he knows a lot about websites.

I think Courtney should win for the Funeral Home because her website was very good. It looked like she put a lot of time in it.

I think Emily should win for VRC Racing because she made her look good. She made buttons in photoshop that added more to the site.

I think Matt S. should win for Williams and Associates because he design was good and easy to read and look at.

Presentation

I think my presentation went really. I think that I did a lot better than last time. I spent more time on my website and thought it out more. Yes, I do agree with the judges comments. I did rush through parts of my presentation, and I still read off the screen a little.

Dreamweaver

This week in Dreamweaver I learned how to put frames on a website. Putting frames on a website makes it look so much cleaner and more organized. I also learned how to link the pages to the frames so you don't have to make a new frame for each page.

Photoshop

One thing that I learned in photoshop was how to put text on a picture. I also learned how to use the magnetic lasso tool and how to make a button for a website. I would like to make a website for Glass Etching because I don't really know what Glass Etching is and I want to learn more about it.

This nine weeks I have learned many things. I have learned how to use Dreamweaver to make websites. I have also learned basic HTML coding. Another thing that I have learned that I really like is Design in Dreamweaver. The next nine weeks I would like to learn how to do more with websites to make them look more professional.

Personal Website

The most difficult element of creating my personal website was getting all the pages to link to one another. This was hard because I would always think they were right and then they wouldn't work. I would have to go back through my pages read the coding and figure out where I made the mistake.

Presentation and Dreamweaver

I believe that my presentation went fairly well. If I would do my presentation again I would not read off the screen and explain more about my knowledge of making websites. I think that Dreamweaver is a lot easy than coding. With dreamweaver you don't have to do any coding, and you can make the website look the way you want it to. I like dreamweaver a lot better than coding.

Tables

Tables help when creating web pages because they help organize the information you have. Tables also help because they are easy for the users to read. The code you use for a table is < table> . I think that making a table is complicated until you have the coding memorized, and then it is easy.

Basic Codes

Three basic codes that you will use when you make a webpage are image, link, and a horizontal rule. For an image you put < img src="file name here" >. For a link you put < href="website here" >. For a horizontal rule you put < hr > . It is important to know how to do these elements because on most websites you will see all of these. These three things make web sites more appealing to people.

New Codes

The codes that I learned this week are , TYPE="square",

To top

.  The first code changes the background on the web page.  The second code makes the bullets in the bulleted list square.  The third code makes a link to the top of the page.

My Learning Styles

My three learning styles were Body Movement, Spatial, and Social. Body Movement says that I like to move. I learned that I could learn better if I am physically doing the task. Spatial says I remember the size, shape, and texture of things. I learned that I am also a visual learner. Social says that I like to talk, but I already knew that. I learned that I also learn through other people. Nature, Musical, and Logic/Math were the three learning skills that I do the least.

Appropriate and Inappropriate Behavior/Coding

Appropriate behavior for the internet is visiting sites that are allowed and doing the things you are supposed to do in the class.  Inappropriate behavior is visiting sites you aren't supposed to be on and not doing the things you should be.  Once we started to work with HTML coding I realized that I knew how to do some of the coding from MySpace.  The things I've learned are how to change the color background, how to make bullets, how to align things, and how to make the font bigger.  I think coding is easier than I thought it was going to be, but I think it is going to get harder as we go along.

What I know about websites.

I don't know anything about webpages.  I definitely don't know how to code.  I know how to type the URL in.
